US Oils Company To Launch New Loyalty Reward Programs
28/03/2010 11:43US Oil companies are on the edge to launch large loyalty reward programs, which will propose to customers price rollbacks, grocery store ties, and branded credit card. Hence Valero is testing some loyalty reward programs, that will be released nationwide soon enough.
What is very interesting, is that these loyalty reward programs are not only based on the companies' products, but more likely on rewards that will matters to customers. Hence, Shell has set up a partnership with grocery stores chain Kroger.
Shell and Kroger Cos. announced a partnership involving grocery ties to fuel-reward redemption. Beginning February 15, Kroger and Shell said they would roll out the grocer rewards program in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio; Knoxville and Nashville, Tenn., and San Diego. Customers can earn rewards including a minimum of 10 cents off a gallon of gasoline for every 100 Fuel Points they earn by using their free loyalty cards when purchasing a variety of products inside Kroger and Ralphs stores. Last fall, Houston-based BP announced a loyalty agreement with Irving, Texas-based Excentus Corp. to work with the loyalty provider’s fuelperks! program. The companies announced that BP will become the fuelperks! redemption partner in the majority of marketing areas in which BP operates."
This reminds me of the French Mouvango program, which was set by Total among other brands, which was offering multi rewards, in differents stores from partners. This idea shows that if you are not able to propose great rewards because of your business models, setting up key partnership would empower your loyalty reward program with great advantages.

Social customer wil go through mobile

Mobile phones are one of the hottest tool for customer relationship management. Indeed several Iphone apps have shown they could improve customer relationship management. I found this very interesting article about social customer and mobile phones.
If you really think about it, this is a revolution and you should consider owning your Iphone apps to start the conversation with your customers.
